After last week’s rollercoaster ride of eating rubbish and feeling sorry for myself, this weekend was a much more fun rollercoaster….at Chessington World of Adventures!
For both my sister-in-law and nephew’s birthdays, I left the house this morning armed with my packs and a bottle of water, feeling confident that today was going to be a great day. I was right. Although after a few hours of being hurtled around at high speed, shot into the air and spun around like a rag doll, I had consumed my shake and bar, so when my family starting looking for somewhere to stop and eat, I had that old familiar urge to get stuck in to something naughty.
We had a meal booked for the evening, but my stomach was starting to grumble, so with an idea to follow the 2 plan for the day, I spotted a great little restaurant in the park that would satisfy all our needs. We sat down together after raiding the buffet, but unlike my family who were digging in to slices of pizza and creamy pasta, I was tucking into a huge salad which tasted delicious.
Feeling very good about the choices I made, we headed out into the park for more fun and scary rides, before heading back to the hotel in the evening for our meal and to sing happy birthday to my 4 year old nephew.
Today has been one of the best days I’ve had in ages, and it was even more enjoyable because I didn’t worry about what I was going to eat. I went ahead and made my decisions with ease, and instead of letting my food worries play on my mind throughout the day, I spent my time enjoying myself!
