As you’ve seen from my blogs, I’ve tried a few different ways to exercise, but unfortunately nothing has really stuck. It doesn’t really help that I’ve been avoiding exercise like the plague for the past 10 years, so it can be really challenging to get back into a rhythm. But, by Jove, I think I’ve cracked it!

I used to love swimming in the mornings before work, and although back then it was more for fun that exercise, I remember how great I used to feel for the rest of the day, and I always had bags of energy.

So for months I’ve been trying to build myself up to getting out of bed early and heading to the pool, knowing that swimming is the best exercise for toning your body and can help you lose weight, but something finally clicked in my brain last week, and so, I did it.

Ok, getting up an hour or so earlier than usual was a bit of a surprise to say the least, and dunking myself in the water was a shock to the system, but once I got going, I felt great. I’ve been going three mornings a week, and I’ve managed to build myself up from 20 to 30 lengths in a week which I’m really proud of. I’m really enjoying it, I get that ache in my body that shows I’m working it well, but I feel so much more energetic, its great!

Plus, in my bid to banish my aforementioned bingo wings, I’ve bought myself a Shake Weight. For anyone who hasn’t heard of it, the Shake Weight is basically a dumb bell that you shake, and the vibrations help tone your arms. It looks really odd when you do it, but for just 6 minutes a day, it will fit in with any hectic lifestyle and you can definitely feel the burn! I’d recommend it for anyone, like me, who wants to tone up those flabby arms. Give it a go!
