With 3 days until my brothers wedding, the lovely maid of honour decided it would be nice to go out for a meal, just the bride, bridesmaids, mums and a few friends, just the girls! We booked a local Italian restaurant, and in true forward thinking mode, I went straight onto the website to plan my meal from the menu in preparation. Being able to plan things like this in advance is becoming second nature to me now, so I knew I didn’t have to worry on the day when I was faced with a dilemma of food choices.
We had a lovely evening chatting about the pending nuptials, and it was nice for us all to sit, relax and chat before the big day. I didn’t feel tempted by the delicious pizza and pasta dishes that were being served up all around me, or even by the dessert menu that was placed in front of me. I was so excited about my brothers wedding that food really wasn’t a priority for me, so I didn’t really dwell on it much.
My Mum told me how she notices the differences in the way I deal with food now; I don’t consume everything on my plate like I would before, I’m quite happy to stop eating once I’m full, and I don’t agonise over having the biggest meal on the menu, wanting to get my moneys worth anymore. I’m glad that other people can see the changes in my behavior, I’m happy about that because it shows that what I have learnt, and am still learning throughout my weight loss journey is really making a big difference to how I live my life.
It’s now the final count down to the big day……
