Today I joined the gym. I haven't set foot in this gym, or any other gym for that matter, for about 8 years, so it was a very big step for me.
I didn't feel as self-conscious as I had expected, more excited to get back into a regime, like I used to have when I was younger.
During my induction I tried out all the new equipment and I was impressed at how much my stamina has improved since losing weight!
I was expecting to struggle with the easiest of exercises, but found myself upping the effort and speed levels.
I was so pumped after leaving my induction that I walked home over a hill that I used to avoid because it used to leave me breathless and feeling sick when I tried to walk over it before. It sounds like such a small thing, but to me, it's a huge accomplishment :)
