I was determined not to let this cold ruin my exercise regime this week, so headed off to boxercise with a pocket full of tissues and a bottle of water at the ready.
I explained to my instructor that I had a cold and he told me if I felt woozy at any time, to go and sit down and have some water.
I was really surprised as we started running around, doing lunges and squats before getting into the more intensive exercises, that I actually started to feel better. My chest felt clearer (after a few coughs!) and I could breathe okay, even after crunches, burpees and planks.
I was totally exhausted when the class was over and every part of me ached, but strangely in a good way.
It was about an hour later, when I had cooled down, had a shower and was sitting on to sofa relaxing that my nose started to block again and my throat felt thick.
All those years of laughing when people told me that exercise can help you feel better, tonight I have eaten my words! Well, not literally, I had an Ideal Weight cottage pie instead!
